Enrichment activities
At Rossmore School, we are always looking for ways to encourage pupils to take part in enrichment activities. We provide a wealth of opportunities for this both before and after school as well as during lunch times.
We are part of the National School Breakfast Programme which is a DfE funded intiative to provide a softer start to school for all children as well as a healthy breakfast. Our aim is to not only provide pupils with this, but also to give them opportunities to take part in different enrichment activities. Our breakfast club offers a wide variety of activities within it, to include but not exclusive to, reading clubs, homework help, arts and crafts, construction and sports.
We also offer clubs during lunch time and these are ran by some of our pupils such as our School Parliament members, Junior Safety Officers, Lion's Pride Champions and Sports Crew to name a few. Not only does this provide enrichment for the pupils taking part, but it also encourages pupils to take on a leadership role and learn the importance of responsibility.
Each term, we aim to vary the after-school clubs we have available to pupils. This is dictated through pupil voice carried out in the form of surveys to find out what activities pupils are most interested in doing more of. There is always at least one club available for each year group. In the Autumn Term, Reception pupils do not atted after-school clubs whilst they settle into full-time school.
